Finding Houdini…

There are a lot of things that we use/do to hide from the people around us.

  1. Façade of happiness, hiding the thousand tears of a broken heart.
  2. A mask, to hide our inner self which we hide for fear of disappointments.
  3. Pride, to hide our weaknesses and try to comfort our own insecurities.
  4. Disabilities, to explain our failures in life.
  5. Blame, to reassure our decisions and principles.
  6. Illness, to excuse us from our laziness and lack of discipline.
  7. Escape, to shield us from our fears.
  8. Love, to break out of our loneliness.
  9. Success, to distract us from our own discontentment.
  10. Vices, to elude our deepest problems that haunt us in our life.
  11. Rebel, to break free from society's clutches and Norms.
  12. Ignore, to avoid the existence of possible disappointments and problems.
  13. Detached, to evade the fear of getting hurt….. Again….
  14. Mediocre, the content of being average and never taking responsibility.
  15. Sarcasm, to dodge our own faults and mistakes.
  16. Indifferent, the conceited side of ourselves unable to accept others and outside help.
  17. Arrogance, the unwillingness to learn and experience.
  18. Lie, a thin door for an escape to an unwanted situation.
  19. Wealth, to make up for our unfortunate past and to be able to reach our distant future.
  20. Fear, the reaction of ourselves unable to fathom the unknown.

We tend to shrink in fear not really knowing what awaits us after our next move. Life is an unfinished chess game constantly in need of our decisions. We ignore the possibility of success and failure to emphasize our own free will. These situations presented to us, decides whether we fall or stand up. In the end, knowing who we truly are and thus finding peace. *sigh*
